Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
Item upgrade, commonly known as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment boosts the stat linearly.
Players can recycle up to six items at a time in order to gain an ability to gauge the level of each of the upgraded components. The cost of recycling an item varies with its rarity and level.
Upgrade components
A level upgrade in Guild Wars 2 is a process that can boost the effectiveness of your weapons and armor. This can be achieved through a number of means, including using upgrade components and upgrading an item's mark levels or rarity. Many items can also be reforged to increase their value.
You can find upgradeable items throughout the game. They are available in all over the world, as well as rewards for missions. Players can also craft them. The most common method of upgrading equipment is by making use of upgrade components, which are the items that can be inserted into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with slots to upgrade and some require a certain level of upgrade. Certain upgrade components offer specific bonuses, while others offer a general bonus.
There are many types of upgrade elements available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. Universal upgrades, such as gemstones and enchantments can be put in any equipment type and provide smaller bonuses than those that are equipment type specific to the type of equipment. Glyphs can only be placed in gathering tools and provide a variety of bonuses, ranging from increasing the speed of the item's collection to providing additional crafting materials.
To upgrade an item, click it in your inventory, then open the Upgrade window. The preview will be displayed on the right hand side of the screen. It will show the expected statistics after the upgrade. If you don't possess enough of either the upgrade button will say Blocked.
The amount of upgrade components required for a given item is displayed in the upper-right corner of the Upgrade window. The cost of upgrading increases depending on the upgrade level and rarity, but it can be reduced using many different methods, such as buying upgrades from a vendor or trading them to other players.
Many weapons can be improved by a prefix such as a rune, or an insignia, and others can be improved with the suffix. These upgrades include an adjective in the name of the item, such as "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".
Glyphs
Glyphs are a way to communicate visual information. They move to catch the attention of the viewer and stimulate curiosity in the brain. The glyphs' animation mimics the body language and makes them more effective in conveying an inter-linguistic message. Glyphs also evoke a sense of familiarity in the brain, which increases retention of the message.
item upgrader can increase a stat's value by a specific amount. This is shown on the item's page when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This is the maximum value that the glyph can enhance a stat by, not the amount that it will actually increase it by. The actual value of the glyph is determined by the tier and the quality of the item you are enchanting it to.
The majority of upgrade components added to items cannot be removed or replaced without removing them except for legendary equipment and upgrades. If, however, you have a non-useful rune or glyph that hasn't yet been incorporated into your equipment, you can transfer it to a different piece equipment by utilizing the Upgrade Glyphs context menu in the Glyphs panel. This will create an Glyph Set that includes the chosen glyph.
You can take out the glyph using a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or an Ascended Salvage tool. The item on which the glyph is located will be destroyed, however the upgraded item can be recovered by removing the glyph fragments.
If you take an item off after adding a glyph, the shards that are part of the glyph will disappear. You can also add a glyph to your equipment to add an additional benefit. For example, the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and deal it slowly rather than all at once. This is useful for those who take many hits from their enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens are used to alter the affixes of equipment and weapons. They can be obtained from various sources, including mystery boxes or rare drops from skulled monsters, or by killing bosses. Reroll tokens give the player a brand new random affix, which is typically superior to the original. Reroll tokens can also be used to upgrade weapon stats to cause more damage or bonuses.
Items that have been rerolled will not appear in the upgrade menu, however they can still receive upgrades. Rerolled items can be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button which alters the layout of the item window and allows up to six items to be selected to recycle. The gauge of level is increased by recycling an item. The amount is determined by the item's rarity as well as its own level, so items with higher levels are more valuable to recycle than lower-level ones.
Players can also make use of Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to roll rerolling weapons to upgrade units. Rerolls will roll a % chance of a weapon's traits. If it rolls higher, the weapon is upgraded. If it rolls lower, the weapon remains unchanged. Weapons can be rerolled up to three times.
Rerolls are a good option for upgrading an item, but users should be aware that it can lower the overall ilvl of the weapon due to the number of rerolls needed to raise it to its final ilvl. This reduction effect is most effective for Diadems and rings that don't have alternatives to raise their ilvls.
The reroll system has been criticized by players as being too expensive, and it would be more fair to let people pay for it using money or food items which would allow players to alter their build without wasting time and energy. However, paid rerolls are not something that the developers would like to implement at this point in the game's development. They are planning to add an ingredient that allows players to alter their race in the near future.
Leveling
There are many ways to upgrade an item. The first is to increase the amount of upgrade which boosts the value of an upgrade for the stat. The second option is to boost the effect of an upgrade, which can increase damage or healing for the stat. Additionally, there is the ability to upgrade the base item to an upgrade type. When this is done, the new item will retain its iLevel, but will have the upgrade effects of the upgraded item type.
It is crucial to remember that upgrades are random. In the majority of cases the best roll will result from glyphs, however there are also possibilities for higher or more special rolls. In addition the iLevel of the upgrade will be determined by the item type and should you upgrade a rare or unusual item to an extraordinary type, it could gain an increased iLevel.
Upgrades can be costly particularly if you are upgrading your equipment from the standard track to legendary. The price will be based on the item's base iLevel and the amount of upgrade levels it comes with. In addition, some upgrade tracks require crests to reach the next upgrade level.
If you're lucky, your upgraded item will be at the highest level of its upgrade track and gain an additional benefit. This will give you a substantial increase in the value of the item. The bonus effect is different with each upgrade level. Generally speaking, the upgrade effect is increased by a number of +3.
The iLevel will also change according to the upgrade path and base level. For instance an item that has been upgraded from being a scarce or unique item to an exceptional one will have the chance to gain the Enhanced Defence of the new base item.
